Why had Jim Begley, former series champion, not made a Speedrome appearance
until May 17? Sadly, medical problems with his newborn son kept the 1999
series titlist away from the track. Begley's son has needed treatment and
surgery for pulmonary problems, and he was back at Riley Hospital on Friday
night. Begley was almost relieved when the race was rained out so he could
get back to the hospital. |

This new Supermodified entry had a familiar appearance, looking nearly
like a Late Model. And this car is owned by late model competitor Rodney
Sizemore... |
 |
...and driven by Cynthia Sizemore, the 2001 Supermodified rookie olf
the year. |

A box truck delivered a new team for May 17; Randy Michaelis Jr. and
family from Greenfield, in a car bought from the Robertsons. |
