SPEEDROME LATE MODELS
The
Indianapolis Speedrome's premier Red Line Graphics Late Model
class topped the card with the signature 50-Lap Figure-8 that
saw the last three World 3-Hour Figure-8 Champions fill up the
podium. Last year's 3-Hour champ Curtis McMurtrey beat out Bobby
Douthitt and Bruce Tunny who fought a bang-up duel for the
runner-up spot. Bill Tunny, Jr. and Jeff Hizer closed out the
top five with points leader R.J. Norton, Jr. sixth. The 25-Lap
oval main saw veteran George Sutton come home the winner just
ahead of defending champion Bruce Tunny after a blistering duel
in the closing laps. Bill Tunny, Jr. set fast time while Sutton
took the trophy dash. Heat wins went to Christopher Green, Casey
White and (the original) Chris Green.

George Sutton becomes the sixth
