Wednesdays Racing Photos

The first of a series of Community Nights rolled out at the Indianapolis Speedrome for the Cub Scouts and veteran George Sutton rolled into Victory Circle to cap the night's racing.
 

Results from Wednesday MAY 14, 2003

Red Line Graphics Late Models -

The Red Line Graphics Late Models started off in a fast way with Rodney Sizemore setting a new track record of 13.318 in time trials. Saturday's oval main winner, George Sutton, snared the Trophy Dash with heat wins going to Doug Greig, Jeff Hizer and Jeff Shackelford. The 25-Lap Oval Feature saw rookie Ben Tunny lead the opening laps until points leader R.J. Norton, Jr. took over the point and led to the finish. Sizemore, Bruce Tunny, Curtis McMurtrey and Bobby Whitaker filled out the top five. In the signature Figure-8 it was Sutton on top over Bobby Douthitt, Greig, Bill Tunny, Jr. and Bruce Tunny. Sutton's win marked the fifth different winner on the "8" with seven faces on the oval trophies.

George Sutton wins the Hutchison Signs Trophy Dash for Chief Mechanic Nelson Stillwell. George is sponsored by Auto Value Parts Stores and Bob's Auto Sales. George Sutton later in the night would become the 5th different Late Model Figure 8 winner of 2003.


Furious George Sutton becomes the 5th different winner in 7 races as George picks up the Red Line Graphics Late Model Figure 8 for Bob's Auto Sales and Crew Chief Nelson Stillwell.  George held off Bobby Douthitt, Doug Greig, Bill Tunny Jr. and Bruce Tunny in a blanket finish.

R.J. Norton Jr. becomes the 7th different Red Line Graphic Late Model Oval Feature winner by winning the 25 Lap Oval Feature.  R.J. passed Late Model Rookie Ben Tunny on lap 14 to go onto win his first oval feature of the season for ACI Concrete Specialists and the Sawmill Saloon.

 Sunshine Cafe Roadrunners -

The Sunshine Cafe Roadrunners main went to Dustin Sapp with Jimmy Hardastle and Robert Buskirk filling in the podium. Heats went to Ricky Martin and Sapp.

Speedrome Hornets -

Bobby Keith did it again, blanking the field for the second night in a row taking the Speedrome Hornets heat and feature for the four-cylinder cars. Barry Coy, Jerry Moore, Pete Guipe and Henry McDougalle rounded out the top five.


Bobby "The Brain" Keith wins for the second consecutive time in the new Speedrome Hornet division.  Bobby extends his points lead in this ever growing entry level division.

Chuck's Race Car Parts Stocks -

Chuck's Race Car Parts Stocks ran for 25 laps on the oval with Jack Smith taking the checkers with Jimmy Kirby and Kerry Wright right behind. Brian Luttrell and Bruiser French claimed the preliminaries.


Black Jack Smith wins his second feature of the season by winning the Chuck's Race Car Parts 25 lap Oval Feature for car owner Steve Brown and S & B Auto Sales.
