All-Phase Landscaping Supermodifieds

He can't make every race but the one's he makes he makes count! Billy Boyer triumphed in Friday's All-Phase Supermodifieds at the Indianapolis Speedrome after a long dry spell. Boyer took control early in his Darco Painting/Cookie's Body Shop Special and held off repeated challenges from points leader Charlie Hargraves. Hargraves went out on lap 47 of 50 with a flat tire handing second place to Joe Thurman. Fred Baumgardner, Rob McCalister, Sr. and Chad Warweg followed. Johnny Hargraves was fast qualifier with defending champ Billy George topping in the Hutchison Signs Trophy Dash. Heat wins went to Boyer and teenaged phenoms Michael Hadley and Tim George.

Speedrome Hornets

Jerry Moore began his Speedrome racing career over twenty years ago on a bicycle. Since then he has wrenched for several Speedrome champs and attempted his own driving career with moderate success. Moore claimed his first main event with a win in the Speedrome Hornets over points leader Bobby Keith, Michael George, Scott McKinney and Tom Courtney. Keith, George and McKinney snagged the preliminary events in the Speedrome's newest class.

Bomber Figure 8's

Slick Rick Howard has come home to the Bomber Figure-8's. The 2001 champ took the 15-lap figure 8 main over Herb Carson and Tony Hackney. The heat races went to Howard and fan favorite Danny French. Rick wins his first feature of 2003.

Chuck's Race Car Parts Outlaw Stocks

Points leader Kerry Wright took fast time for the Chuck's Race Car Parts Outlaw Stocks but couldn't get the job done in the 25-Lap Oval feature. Former champ Jimmy Kirby ran off with the first feature with Richard Amos, Jack Smith, Wright and rookie Ed Brickley scrapping for runner-up. In the Figure-8 it was all Wright as Kerry topped Corey Turner, Kirby, Ricky Schaeffer and Brickley. Wright and Turner claimed heat races in the preliminary events.

The Juggernaut rolls on! Jimmy Hardcastle came from deep in the field to claim yet another Sunshine Cafe Roadrunner main. The win stretches Hardcastle's points lead in the rough-and-tumble division. Kevin Smith and Shawn Kloss filled up the podium with Ricky Martin and young rookie Mark Eads, Jr. wrapping up the top five. Robert Buskirk, Gary Grant and Kloss claimed the qualifying races.
