ALL-PHASE LANDSCAPING SUPERMODIFIEDS

FAST QUALIFIER - Johnny Hargraves   13.532
HEAT RACE WINNERS - Rob McCalister, Sr., Bob Higgins

Spike Brickley parlayed a front row start and a tough track to hold off Fred Baumgardner, Sr. for his first feature win in the All-Phase Landscaping SuperModifieds. Chris Shrum II was third with Ray Evert and Rob McCalister, Sr. rounding out the top five. Division points leader Johnny Hargraves was best in the time trial but took an early out of the feature. McCalister and Bob Higgins claimed heat races.

HEAT RACE WINNERS - Tim L. Smith, Michael Gross, Tim J. Smith

Rob Hurt had won four consecutive heat races in the Speedrome Hornet division but was stopped when he tried to make it five. As a consolation Hurt decided to win the 20-lap feature instead. Mike Gross chased Hurt to the line followed by Jeff Thomas, Tim L. Smith and Michael George. Heat wins went to Smith, Gross and Tim J. Smith.

HEAT RACE WINNERS - Corey Turner, Donnie Sloan

Ricky Schaeffer III has been turning up the heat on his Chuck's Race Car Parts Outlaw Stock team since bringing his father on board the family operation. Schaeffer started up front with Rookie of the Year contender Ed Brickley and the two ran away to the checkers of the 25-lap oval portion of the card. Corey Turner beat points leader Kerry Wright and former champ Jack Smith to wrap up the top five. Turner and Donnie Sloan took the preliminaries with Oza Hoosier tops in the afternoon qualifying.

The 15-lap Outlaw Stock Figure-8 was a three-way battle between Hoosier, Jimmy Kirby and Wright until Hoosier picked up a major push late in the run. On the white flag lap Hoosier and Kirby made contact with Hoosier left stranded on a marker tire or the last lap. Kirby held off Wright for the "W" with Ed Brickley, Brian Luttrell and Schaeffer trailing.

HEAT RACE WINNERS - Herb Carson, Scott Cothron

For the third race in a row Mike Fischer looked strong in the Bomber Figure-8 only to see his hopes dashed in contact. Jeff Smith took the win with points leader Barry Tabor in second followed by Jerry Green, Danny French and Herb Carson. Carson was tops in a hotly contested preliminary run.

Robert Buskirk started deep in the field for the Sunshine Cafe Roadrunners' 20-lap oval but took control just five laps into the chase. Randy Hutchison was second followed by John Collins, Mike Carson and Scott Tabor. Donnie Wild, Carson and Barry Coy nailed the qualifying heats.
