HADLEY JR. AND GREEN PROVE AGE IS NO BAR TO WINNING

High Schooler Mike Hadley, Jr. and  Great-grandfather Jerry Green visited the winner's circle Friday night at the Indianapolis Speedrome. Not even a severe downpour as qualifications closed could stop the busy track from crowning several new winners

Results from July 4, 2003

ALL-PHASE LANDSCAPING SUPERMODIFIEDS

FAST QUALIFIER - Max Olmsted   13.668
HEAT WINNERS - Cynthia Sizemore, Bob Higgins

Mike Hadley, Jr. grew up and went to school just a few blocks from the Indianapolis Speedrome. In 2001 he was crowned the champion of the Speedrome Bandolero series and Friday night he became one of the youngest feature winners in the history of Speedrome stock car racing. Hadley was sitting second in the All-Phase Landscaping Supermodified feature when leader Rodney Smith dropped out with ten laps left in the race. The 16 year-old Hadley Jr. held off Cynthia Sizemore for most of the race with Spike Brickley, Ray Evert and Rob McCalister, Sr. in a pack on their tail. Max Olmsted was fastest in qualifying but was out early with contact. Heat wins were scored by Sizemore and Bob Higgins.
